less is more

Food is an amazing way to connect with time. It is a vessel that can transport us into the now like nothing else. The moment a flavor touches our palette we instantly become aware. Our senses are alert, analyzing and categorizing the essence of the very thing that fuels our bodies with energy. What a miracle! Why drown this experience in quantity, when variety awaits us for a journey yet to be traveled.


The word for Photo Friday is glow. This is both the wine cellar and the center of the restaurant Aureole in the Mandalay Bay Hotel in Las Vegas. When a customer orders a bottle of wine, a lady is suspended from a rope at the top of the wine cellar tower to retrieve the bottle in real time and simultaneously perform a little show for the guests. Vegas style!
